Cable Protection: Solutions for Harsh Environments
Mechanical loads in the form of abrasion and sharp edges, chemical influences from oils or solvents, thermal loads from heat or cold—all of these factors can have negative effects on your cabling. HELUKABEL offers thoughtful cable protection systems that extend the lifespan of your cables, reduce disruptions, and save you money on maintenance.
What sets us apart—at a glance
- Maximum protection: robust materials such as our spirally wound SPR metal sleeving reliably protects your cables from rodent damage and abrasion.
- Heat resistant: our HTP series remains functional at extreme temperatures up to +260°C and can even withstand molten metals.
- Upgrade without uninstalling: slotted variations make retroactive installation on existing systems possible.
- Complete range of systems: from conduit fittings to insulation tubing and sleeves for cables, we're your one-stop shop for everything you need.
Where cable protection is indispensable
In mechanical engineering, conduits protect cables from shavings and coolants. In the automotive industry, they withstand temperature fluctuations and vibrations, and in the process industry, they endure aggressive chemicals and oils. Outdoor installations require UV and weather-resistant solutions. Stable metal braiding prevents expensive downtime due to rodent damage. Shrink tubing for cables seals connections and provides electrical insulation.

An overview of materials and systems
Braided metal sleeving
In its SPR-AS, SPR-PVC-AS, and SPR-EDU-AS series, HELUKABEL has aggregated its collection of spiral-wound protective sleeving for cables made of galvanised steel or stainless steel. They provide the highest level of mechanical stability while remaining flexible. The metallic construction of this braided sleeving screens against electromagnetic interference and is suited for environments with extreme temperatures.
HTP (High Temperature Protection)
Our HTP range is perfect for areas subjected to extreme heat. Our iron-oxide-containing silicone sheathing over a fibre-glass braid allows this sleeving to withstand temperatures up to +260°C. The material can even withstand small amounts of molten steel and protects against welding sparks.
Plastic protective conduits for diverse applications
The type K and S and the PT-S and S-PU-series corrugated conduits from HELUKABEL are available in polyamide, PVC, and polyurethane. They is flexible, light weight, and protect against moisture, dust, and chemical influences. The integrated spring steel wire simultaneously provides the corrugated conduit with dimensional stability and flexibility. Slotted designs can be retroactively installed on existing cables.
Shrink tubing with adhesive
Black shrink tubing for cables with an integrated adhesive layer provides connections with long-term protection against moisture. When warmed, the material shrinks and provides a complete seal. This is a proven solution for finishing cable repairs or sealing transitions between different cable types.
Conduit fittings for secure installations
The HSSV conduit fittings from HELUKABEL provide a secure connection between protective conduits and housings or junction boxes. They ensure defined protection classes (IP65, IP66, IP68) and provide tension relief. We offer fittings in different thread sizes (M, PG) and materials.
FAQ
Cable protection preserves cables from mechanical damage, chemical influences, temperature fluctuations, and electromagnetic interferences. It extends the lifespan of your cables and prevents costly downtime.
Consider factors such as environmental temperature, mechanical loads, chemical exposure, and flexibility requirements. The HELUKABEL team is happy to help you in selecting the optimal system for your specific application.
Standards such as DIN EN IEC 61386 define requirements for cable conduit systems including protection class, temperature resistance, and mechanical strength. They ensure safety and enable the international comparability of products.
Yes, slotted or separable protective tubing can be installed without disassembling existing cables. These solutions are ideally suited for retrofittings and repairs to existing systems.
