Connectors in all shapes and sizes, from circular to speciality designs

Circular or round connectors dominate the space in automation and drive technology, where mistakes are avoided thanks to robust cable glands and clear labelling. Rectangular connectors save space in control cabinets and concentrate many contacts into a tight space. Hybrid connectors combine power and data cables into one cable and are the perfect, compact solution for tight spaces in machinery and systems.

Extreme conditions demand robust connection technology

Metal housing provides mechanical protection and screening against electromagnetic interference. Stainless-steel designs are tough enough for corrosive environments in the food & beverage and chemical industries. Plastic designs score points with their low weight and good insulator qualities. Temperature-resistant materials ensure machines and systems remain operational, even when below freezing, and are also heat resistant. Where impermeability is key, we use gas-tight and hermetically sealed industrial connectors.

Industries that rely on reliable connection technology

The automotive industry requires compact, vibration-resistant solutions for sensors and control units. E-mobility needs high-voltage connectors for batteries and charging systems. Drive technology and robotics rely on flexibility that withstands millions of bending cycles. Solar power systems depend on UV and weather-resistant connectors. In control cabinets and in industry, in general, standardised connectors ensure quick installation and maintenance. As a manufacturer of connectors, HELUKABEL develops tailored connection technology for every industry.

FAQ

A plug typically refers to only the male part of a connection (with pins or pegs), while the term connector refers to the complete system of plug and socket. In practice, the two terms often function as synonyms for the complete connector unit.

High-quality, industrial plugs can withstand 10,000 to 50,000 plug cycles, and specialty designs for testing technology can withstand more than 100,000. Factors such as contact material, spring element, and mechanical guidance have a significant impact on durability.

The IP (International Protection) class signifies protection against touch, foreign bodies, and water. The first number refers to its protection against the ingress of solid foreign bodies (0–6), and the second against the ingress of water (0–9). IP67, for example, means the part is dust-proof and protected against temporary submersion.
