HELUKABEL Is Now a Member of IPAI
Platform for innovation looks to drive the use of applied AI forward through collaborative projects and intensive exchanges
HELUKABEL intensifies its activities revolving around artificial intelligence: The specialists for electrical connection technology is now a member of IPAI. The platform for innovation and collaboration between companies, research facilities, institutions, and administrations has made it their goal to drive applied AI forward through collaborative projects and intensive exchanges.
Since its founding in 2021, IPAI has focused on the networking between actors in research, industry, politics, and society working on artificial intelligence. Through the close collaboration of various partners, the development and use of AI technology is expected to become even more practical, user-oriented, and responsible.
Many notable companies from a wide array of industries are already members of IPAI—and now HELUKABEL, too. "Our joining of IPAI underlines our goal to actively help shape the future of the industry as networked, responsible, and full of innovative spirit," explains Managing Director Marc Luksch. "For us, artificial intelligence is crucial when it comes to offering our customers with smarter, more efficient solutions and new added value."
HELUKABEL has already introduced one such solution to the market with their joint venture nLine: an optical inspection system. With the help of AI, this system inspects extruded and cylindrical products such as cables, hoses, or ropes for errors during active production. nLine is able to monitor the surface quality, colours, and labelling, among other characteristics, and even at high production speeds. Deviations are signalled and documented in real time, and, thanks to its teach & go training approach, the system is able to reach one-hundred-percent coverage and traceability for every suited product within in a short period of time. With this, users are able to significantly reduce the error rate in their production and prevent customers complaints.
As a member of IPAI, HELUKABEL would like to undertake projects like this more often in the future. Marc Luksch adds, "our goal is to use artificial intelligence to rethink industrial connectivity using smart solutions that optimise processes, improve quality, and accelerate innovation. Additionally, we would like to utilise our access to such a high-quality AI network to sustainably forge ahead with our own digital transformation."
