A Highlight for the whole of Hemmingen
HELUKABEL celebrates public summer party with friendly match against the VfB legends team

Sunshine galore and temperatures just below the 30-degree mark: the conditions for the HELUKABEL summer party at the headquarters in Hemmingen last Friday could not have been better. The faces of the almost 2,500 visitors also beamed with the sun - because the company had come up with something very special for this year: Not only employees and their families were invited to the celebration, but also the entire public.
VfB comes with big names - and the DFB Cup
The party attracted not only the workforce but also numerous guests from the local area and beyond to the grounds of the local sports club GSV Hemmingen. After all, there was plenty to see and experience: As a club partner of VfB Stuttgart, HELUKABEL had invited the Bundesliga club's traditional team to play a friendly match against a selection of employees and GSV players. And the VfB legends team was extremely well represented with names such as Guido Buchwald, Hansi Müller, Kevin Kuranyi and Cacau - a paradise for autograph and selfie hunters.
Another highlight for the children was the visit from the VfB football school: around 60 young footballers had the opportunity to train on the pitch under the guidance of professionals and learn a trick or two. The appearance of VfB mascot ‘Fritzle’ put everyone in a good mood - and as if that wasn't enough, the reigning winners from Stuttgart even brought the original DFB cup with them. Of course, the visitors - always under the watchful eye of the security staff - did not miss the chance to have their photo taken with the valuable trophy.
Party until late in the evening
With so much fun, games and emotion, it was only a small drop of bitterness that the VfB legends sent the HELUKABEL selection off the pitch with a 12:1 defeat. The pride of having competed against the former Bundesliga stars and national team players was written all over the faces of the amateur footballers even after the final whistle. And with a cool drink or a savoury snack from one of the numerous stands, the annoyance of conceding a goal or two was quickly forgotten.
Afterwards, people danced, sang and celebrated to the sounds of the Stuttgarter Hofbräu Regiment until late into the evening. The party band, well-known from the Cannstatter Wasen, thrilled the audience with a wide range of music and ensured that almost nobody was left sitting still after a short time. Both the HELUKABEL employees and the many guests from Hemmingen and the surrounding area agreed that this was a party that will be remembered fondly for a long time to come.
